Celebrating India at 70
Saffron Screen will mark the 70th anniversary of India’s independence and partition with two special screenings and some delicious Indian food.
Multi-award winning romantic musical, Bombay will be screened on Sunday 24th September with a selection of delicious Indian food served before the film. Set against the Mumbai riots, Bombay is full of superbly choreographed songs shot in dazzling locations and the story follows a young Hindu man and a Muslim woman as they elope and start a family in Mumbai.
The celebration will continue on Monday 25th September with acclaimed Indian art-house film, Hotel Salvation, a gently humorous story about an elderly man travelling to Varanasi with his middle-aged son and their different approaches to the holy city.
We do hope you can make it along to help us celebrate this diverse and beautiful country.
