Churchill Film and Scriptwriter Q&A

Scriptwriter and historian Alex von Tunzelmann will visit Saffron Screen for a Q&A hosted by author Clare Mulley after a screening of Churchill at the end of the month.

Churchill is based on the untold story of wartime leader’s days before the D-Day landings when, ailing, exhausted and haunted by the memories of the disastrous Gallipoli campaign in 1915, he is buoyed by the support from his wife Clementine and leads the country to a historic victory. Starring Brian Cox as Winston Churchill and Miranda Richardson as his wife Clementine, the film is a fascinating depiction of a complex, flawed hero at a pivotal moment in history.

Alex von Tunzelmann is the author of four history books and writes drama for film and television as well as occasional columns for The Guardian.

Churchill (PG) will be shown at Saffron Screen on Saturday 22nd July at 8pm (followed by a Q&A with Alex von Tunzelmann) and also on Sunday 23rd July at 8pm. Tickets are available from www.saffronscreen.com, the Tourist Information Centre and box office.
