Cinema in the Square Returns
On Sunday 28th May, Saffron Screen will once again join forces with Saffron Walden Town Council and the Town Team to screen two fabulous family films in Saffron Walden’s Market Square!
The event, which is sponsored by the partner organisations and local family attraction Audley End Miniature Railway, is free and open to the whole community.
Lovable animation Shaun the Sheep will be shown at 2pm and family favourite E.T. will be screened at 5pm. There will also be a performance by Pure Rhythm School of Performing Arts at 4pm. A number of food vendors will be in attendance and there will be a licensed bar. Audiences just need to bring something to sit on and enjoy the show!
The event, which follows on from last year’s successful free outdoor screening of Hairspray, aims to raise awareness of the #shoplocal and #MYSW campaigns which encourage more people to shop in the town to ensure that it remains a vibrant and prosperous place to work, shop, visit and live.
Emma Jenkins of Audley End Miniature Railway, sponsors of the event said:
“‘We are very happy to be supporting Cinema in the Square hosted by Saffron Screen. It is the perfect opportunity for the Audley End Miniature Railway to be involved with an event in the local community especially as it is aimed at families and we hope to see you all there!’
For more information visit www.saffronscreen.com or the Tourist Information Centre. Please note that numbers are limited to 500 at each screening, so arrive early to get the best seat. Gates open at 1pm.
