The long-awaited return of Pixar’s favourite animated family is gloriously fun, as Mr. Incredible stays at home looking after the kids while Elastigirl fights crime.

Another chance to see Pixar’s favourite family’s return, as they struggle to maintain normal lives while concealing their superpowers. Elastigirl continues to fight crime and campaign for the return of ‘supers’; Mr Incredible stays at home caring for their children, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack, discovering the baby’s secret powers in the process. But the Parrs and their ally Frozone also find they must battle a new villain, the wicked Screenslaver. Glorious fun!
(2018 USA 125 mins)

Incredibles 2 has snappy charm to spare. As before, there are plenty of gags aimed specifically at older viewers … There’s a serious movie lurking at the heart of all this hi-tech adventure that takes timely swipes at gender inequality, family stress and the modern triumph of salesmanship over substance. But it’s the slapstick brilliance of Jack-Jack’s erupting powers that really lifts Incredibles 2, making it that rarest of things – a sequel superior to the original. From early giggles to full-bellied guffaws, Jack-Jack’s antics had me in stitches.  Mark Kermode, The Observer
