Paddington 2 Dementia-Friendly Film Screening
Saffron Screen will continue its dementia-friendly screenings in April with the glorious and much-loved Paddington 2.
Saffron Screen’s dementia-friendly screenings offer an opportunity to see a film in a relaxed, supportive and safe environment. The cinema has recently shown three musical films, which have been enjoyed by nearly 200 local people living with dementia, their family, friends and carers. This month’s charming and funny family film has been chosen to appeal to everyone from grandparents to children so the big screen experience can be shared by multigenerational families in the comfort of their local cinema.
Paddington 2, which sold out at Saffron Screen multiple times at screenings in 2017 and early 2018, stars a host of British acting talent, including Hugh Grant, Sally Hawkins and Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville and has garnered rave reviews across the board.
Saffron Screen’s dementia-friendly screenings are supported by Saffron Walden Dementia Action Alliance and key features include: more lighting, no adverts, a 15 minute interval and a welcoming environment for those living with dementia and their family, friends and carers. Moving around and noise are also accepted and the doors open one hour before the film starts for socialising and acclimatising. Tickets are priced at £5, carer tickets are free and the ticket price includes a free hot drink and biscuits.
Paddington 2 (U) will be shown on Sunday 15th April at 3pm. Doors open at 2pm. Tickets are available in person from the Tourist Information Centre and box office or online at www.saffronscreen.com.
