Saffron Screen is committed to using film to entertain and educate, as well as making the cinema a place for all the community. To this end, we host discussion events and question & answer sessions with directors, film-makers, producers, actors and many others on a regular basis. From time to time we schedule film appreciation courses, film-making courses and other educational events such as our 90-second film competition and film festivals.
Hosted film discussions are usually held once a month immediately following designated film screenings. You do not have to participate but all contributions and views are welcome. These sessions are about the film generally and are moderated.
We are currently looking for volunteers to host future film discussions: you do not need any prior experience, just an interest in film. If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch via email@example.com
Hosted discussions are clearly marked next to specific screenings in the Full Diary.
We invite people involved in all aspects of film to come to Saffron Screen and answer questions. Directors, producers, film-makers, actors and others. Invited speaker events are marked next to specific screenings in the Full Diary.
If you have connections with anyone who might be interested in presenting at Saffron Screen, please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org.
We offer free film notes for every Monday night screening. To receive these film notes please use our sign up form here.
Courses and Workshops
If you would like to be informed when we are planning future courses, please sign up for our weekly and special events email here.
We are always looking to work with the local community, perhaps with a performance before a screening to make attending a film a more sociable event. About twice a year we work with local charities and community organisations to stage special fundraising or information events. If you want to make enquiries or suggestions about a community or fundraising screening, please email email@example.com. Please note that there is great interest in fundraising screenings and therefore, we have set up a waiting list.
