CAST Isabela Moner, Eva Longoria, Q’orianka Kilcher, Benicio Del Toro

Dora’s most dangerous adventure yet is full of good humour, fun and mystical secrets as she embarks on a mission to save her parents, just as she’s started high school.

This live-action continuation of the hugely popular Nickelodeon series Dora the Explorer finds the admirably upbeat heroine preparing for her most dangerous adventure yet – high school. But it’s not long before Dora, her monkey companion Boots and her rag-tag group of friends must embark on a graver mission to save her parents and learn the secrets of a lost Incan civilisation. Full of typical Dora humour, this is engaging family-friendly fare in the style of Jumanji and Indiana Jones.
(2019 Australia / USA 102 mins)

It’s all with a wink and a smile, and while younger viewers still enamored with the show will delight in seeing it transferred to the big screen, older moviegoers will surely enjoy the wacky twists that combine the show and the film … Moner’s charisma keeps things pushing forward, and so does the film’s appealing spirit. If only every big screen adaptation of a beloved existing property could feel this funny and fresh, there’d be less to fear about an industry besieged by recycled material that never takes a risk. That’s what Dora is all about. Kate Erbland, IndieWire
