Go Behind the Scenes with Saffron Screen’s Film Industry Q&As
Local independent cinema, Saffron Screen, will host two Q&As with award-winning film industry professionals this month.
On Friday 11th and Saturday 12th May, screenings of Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs will be followed by a Q&A with animation producer and Newport resident, Simon Quinn. Simon, who also worked with Anderson on Fantastic Mr Fox and with Tim Burton on Frankenweenie, managed the brilliant team of animators on The Isle of Dogs and audiences can look forward to a fascinating insight into one of the most talked about animations this year!
On Sunday 20th May, God’s Own Country, the best British film of 2017 (according to BIFA, the audience-voted Empire Awards and the Saffron Screen programming team) will be screened for one final time and followed by a Q&A with the editor, Chris Wyatt, and the sound designer, Anna Bertmark, who won a BIFA for her work on the film. Between them Wyatt and Bertmark have worked with numerous brilliant British directors including Shane Meadows, Carol Morley, Stephen Frears and Yann Demange.
Saffron Screen will also re-introduce hosted discussions (a post-film chat) in June and will be discussing thoughtful Nepalese documentary Even When I Fall on Monday 11th June and the adaptation of Ian McEwan’s novella On Chesil Beach on Saturday 30th June.
Tickets are available for all screenings from www.saffronscreen.com, the Tourist Information Centre and box office.
