Tate Modern To Show Matisse Exhibition At Saffron Screen

In the first ever broadcast of an exhibition by the Tate art gallery group, Henri Matisse’s: The Cut Outs will hit the big screen at Saffron Screen on Saturday 7th June.

Renowned modern art gallery Tate Modern will broadcast live into cinemas around the UK with an exclusive tour of the Matisse exhibition and the one off screening will give audiences the opportunity to enjoy an intimate, behind the scenes tour of the blockbuster exhibition with Tate Director and Curator Nicholas Serota and broadcaster Francine Stock and watch interviews with experts, friends of the artist and rare archive footage of Matisse at work.

A giant of modern art, this landmark show explores the final chapter in Matisse’s career as he began ‘carving into colour’ and his series of spectacular cut-outs was born. A must see for modern art lovers and students of art.

Saffron Screen’s Business Manager Rebecca del Tufo said:

“Live and recorded special events, including theatre, ballet, opera and exhibitions from the British Museum, have proven popular with Saffron Screen audiences in recent years and adding a prestigious art exhibition is a natural progression for the cinema. This is an exciting opportunity to see a joyous exhibition which has received rave reviews.”

Matisse: The Cut Outs exhibition will be recorded live and shown at Saffron Screen on Saturday 7th June at 11am and is a late addition to the current May/June programme. Tickets are available from www.saffronscreen.com, the Tourist Information Centre and box office.
