Moo-vie man visits Saffron Screen
Saffron Screen will this week welcome film-maker Andy Heathcote and his extraordinary documentary about an unconventional farmer and his herd of unruly cows.
The Moo Man is the remarkable story of maverick farmer, Stephen Hook. Turning his back on the cost cutting dairies and supermarkets, Hook decides to stay small and keep his close relationship with the herd. However, his plans to save the farm do not always go down well with his 55 spirited cows and the result is a laugh-out-loud, emotional roller-coaster of a journey.
Heathcote filmed Stephen and herd for over four years on the marshes of the Pevensey Levels. The film highlights the difficulties facing family farms in the UK today and will be of particular interest to the rural communities in and around Saffron Walden. Heathcote will be answering questions from the audience after the screening.
The Moo Man (U) will be screened at Saffron Screen on Monday 9th September at 8pm.
Tickets are available from the cinema box office, the Tourist Information Centre, or online at www.saffronscreen.com
