See Netflix Titles at Saffron Screen

Saffron Screen is one of just a few cinemas in East Anglia showing selected new Netflix films on the big screen.

We are working with Netflix and Altitude Film Distribution to show four Netflix films which it thinks merit being seen on the big screen, whether or not its customers have Netflix at home.

Martin Scorsese’s absorbing and masterful The Irishman (21 Dec and 7 Jan) headlines the film quartet with its incredible cast including Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Anna Paquin.

In the new year, the cinema will be showing Marriage Story from Noah Baumbach (The Squid & the Whale, Frances Ha) (3 and 19 Jan), an intricate and emotional examination of the end of a relationship, with brilliant, awards-worthy performances from Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson.

This will be followed by another superb acting masterclass from Jonathan Pryce and Anthony Hopkins, who are both magnificent in The Two Popes (12 Jan) from Fernando Meirelles (City of God, The Constant Gardener).

Finally, audiences should look out for Uncut Gems (10 Feb), an exhilarating crime thriller from the Safdie Brothers (Good Time) which features a superb performance from Adam Sandler.

Programming Manager, Rebecca del Tufo said:
At Saffron Screen, we want to offer our audience the best of cinema – a broad range of films and events to suit all ages and tastes. We don’t have strict rules about what we show or when, unlike most of the cinema chains and, as an independent cinema, we can be flexible. We’re delighted to be showing these Netflix titles and hope our audience enjoy seeing them on the big screen and in a shared space!”.
