Renowned British Stars Shine for Q&A at Saffron Screen

Actor Jane Horrocks and Director Dexter Fletcher paid a visit to Saffron Screen last week for an entertaining Q&A and screening of their film Sunshine on Leith.

Jane Horrocks, who rose to fame following celebrated performances in Life is Sweet and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, introduced the film which has been dubbed the Scottish Mamma Mia!


Christmas Holidays at Saffron Screen

This Christmas, Saffron Screen have hung up their stocking and packed it full of films and festive fun for all the family.

With special visits from Father Christmas, Christmas comedy favourite Elf will kick off the holiday programme along with another family Christmas classic, It’s a Wonderful Life, back by popular demand.


3D cinema returns to Saffron Screen for New Year

During the first weekend in January (3-6th), 3D will return to Saffron Screen with three outstanding new films.

Disney’s fantastic new animation Frozen will open the weekend. This great big snowy adventure is an enchanting throwback to the classic Disney musicals of old, with memorable songs and gorgeous icy animation.


Saffron Walden Goes Wild!

On Sunday 16 February, not-for-profit cinema, Saffron Screen, will team up with the National Trust to look at how we can encourage local children to get outdoors and explore nature.

A Wild Success for Saffron Screen

Landmark Q&A at Saffron Screen

Saffron Screen and Trinity Films proudly present the award-winning documentary Plot for Peace.  A special preview screening ahead on the film’s release on the 14th March will take place on Sunday 9th March at 8pm and will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s subject Jean-Yves Ollivier (alias ‘Monsieur Jacques’) and director, Carlos Agullo.


Bring Your Teenager for £1

As part of Saffron Screen’s objective to encourage more young people to see a wider range of films, the local not-for-profit cinema is offering a new incentive to encourage teenagers to see films that may not be within their usual cinema viewing.


Halloween fun at Saffron Screen!

There was fierce competition for the best costume prize at Saffron Screen’s special Halloween screening of The Little Vampire during half term. In the end, Rafferty was judged to be the winner, with Barnaby coming a close second.
